Now you can ensure your garden is designed, constructed and maintained in an environmentally friendly way by landscape professionals who know how to do it.
Jock Gammon from Green Rooms Gardens & Landscapes Pty Ltd is the first and so far the only landscape professionals to achieve ECLIPs membership (Environmentally Certified Landscape Industry Professionals) in Sydney and NSW.
‘This environmental certification assures our clients that we are operating in the most environmentally sustainable way possible, from design through to construction and maintenance practices,’ says Jock Gammon. ‘It’s certainly not a green wash – we had to do a lot of training to achieve it, and all our landscapes are subject to random audits.’
Green Rooms Gardens & Landscapes Pty Ltd, like all ECLIPs practitioners, is so serious about its environmental credibility, it gives serious consideration to the resources it uses, such as not using rainforest timber from unsustainable sources, pebbles mined from active waterways, and even the distance products have to travel.
‘Our clients, like most people in Australia, are concerned about the environment,’ says Jock Gammon, ‘and now we have a way of proving that when we create their gardens, it is with the lowest environmental impact possible. We don’t include invasive garden plants, we minimise chemical use, and our construction practices consider not only the immediate environment but the wider environment too.’
‘This means that we protect waterways by not allowing sediment to run into stormwater drains, that we protect existing topsoil and vegetation, and we attempt to recycle and use recycled materials whenever we can.’
