May Newsletter
02 May 2010

Welcome to Junglefy's 1st Quarter Newsletter.

Happy New Year, I hope it has started out well for you! We have returned from summer holidays with bucket loads of energy and enthusiasm and are itching to continue where we left off in December.

Green Reflections

The holiday period has allowed me perfect time to research and ponder the future of green industry and I must say I am excited. As we become more environmentally conscious and start to recognise and acknowledge the negative effects on our environment caused by our overly consumptive, energy inefficient lifestyles and business practices, a number of businesses and big-wigged individuals are responding to our new found social responsibility.

Project Updates

New Year means New Tricks! We completed all of our 2009 projects on time and thus are starting 2010 with a clean slate. This year is promising to be very exciting and you can keep tuned on the developments through this newsletter.

Green Wall - ISIS Offices, Melbourne
One of the first projects for this year has been the ISIS Green Wall in Melbourne. This project is a 5 star green star office fit-out in which we are installing a doublesided vertical garden.

Green Wall - Mount Tomah, Botanical Gardens
The Mount Tomah botanical garden is currently building a new visitor centre with stunning vistas over the Blue Mountains. The rooftop was originally designed to have a deck installed over the top but thanks to some foresight by the Mount Tomah team this has been replaced with a semi-extensive green roof planted with endemic flora.

Industry Happenings - Urban Forest

I am personally very excited about the prospects of China where the young generation is really starting to experience freedom for expression in the field of arts and design.

The maddest building proposal of the month must go to Beijing based MAD Architects’ for their 1,250-foot-high Urban Forest proposal. And you know what, one day this will not be too far fetched!
