Diagonal paving
Location
Coogee, Sydney NSW
Project Value
$25,000
The client had just inherited a small courtyard and pathway after purchasing this Coogee home. The courtyard needed a thorough clean up and the addition of a point of interest. The pathway was very bare and needed a spruce up as it was viewed from practically every where in the house. The client wished to reflect his south east Asian roots with the design so it was decided to incorporate a Balinese style copper water wall complemented by four large pots with Balinese wall art completing the scheme.
Tropical planting was added and the decking stripped back to its former glory. The problem of being overlooked by other residents in teh complex was dealt with by the introduction of a living screen through using stainless steel posts and wires and incorporating evergreen jasmine in matching pots that were placed in the adjacent driveway. The pathway was relaid on an angle to the house to create movement and width. Architectural, tropical planting was added to create a tapestry of colour, form and texture when viewed from inside the house or when walking through the space.
