Set in Waterloo this inner city apartment enjoyed a large outdoor area that needed a complete makeover to encourage the young professional couple to take advantage of all that practiculary unused space.
A confident, contemporary design was needed to compliment the already completed interior. Screening and storage issues have been dealt with cleanly and functionally with the sliding screen storage unit and custom made troughs housing a wealth of architectural foliage plants.
The troughs were also used to bring a splash of colour into the garden with orange providing a dramatic, unifying focal element to the garden. One of the most delightful features is the built in daybed. Its undulating outline is clad in Hardwood slats and when flooded with cushions provides a very comfortable way to while away an afternoon.
Hardwood decking, a simple pergola and striking lighting complete the scheme that ticks all the client’s boxes for creating that perfect outdoor room.
