Informal Garden
Location
Glebe, Sydney NSW
Project Value
$75,000
This informal design treats the whole garden as one but uses gentle
curves and strategically placed shrubs to stop the view at various
points. The seating area near the house is laid with large random
sandstone paving and is circular echoing the curving shape of the lawn.
Various sandstone edging is used to link all elements together.
A covered pergola emphasises the link with the inside to form this outdoor room. The painting compliments the scheme perfectly and is very effective in screening the large water tanks installed for sub-surface and drip irrigation. This has allowed a traditionally very patchy lawn to flourish.
